Would my laptop get cooler if I changed the battery?

I go my laptop about 1 ½ years ago and recently I’ve noticed that the laptop gets very hot even when I use it for the simplest of tasks e.g. browsing internet and watching movies, will changing the battery cool down the laptop and if no, is there any other way to decrease the temperature I know of cooling pads which you can put under the laptop and external fans, but that shouldn’t be necessary for such simple tasks.

I would have to agree with most of the other answerers here, the most likely issue is that the fans and vents are restricted and you need to give them a blast with some compressed air. You can buy this in a can in many PC stores, but when you clean the machine do it outside or it will get messy!
Do you actually use the battery? They do heat up when constantly plugged in and it is this heat that reduces there storage capability. Unplug the machine every day and run on the battery until the first low power warning notice then reconnect to the mains, once you have finished with the machine pull the plug out of the charger, if you leave the cable plugged in the wall, the charger plugged into the laptop and it will also allow the charger to cool down as well.
A very simple trick to aid cooling is always have the laptop on a hard surface, never bedding, cushions or similar, it blocks the vents and sucks in the fluff eventually blocking the vents and fan. If you must work in bed then take a tray or even a newspaper to place the laptop on. You can also put a pencil or a small piece of wood under the back of the laptop, lifting it up perhaps half a centimetre, and this will increase the airflow and aid cooling.
